Cottage Window SOLD

Cottage Window, 4 x 4", acrylic on canvas
SOLD

This was a response to an About.com challenge photo. I really wanted to emphasize the angles of the window and its surroundings in my painting as well as the kind of run-down, deserted feeling of the cottage.

It is available on Etsy:

A new ACEO -part of my "Everyday Items" series.

I really needed to take a break from the painting I was working on, so I decided to create another ACEO.

A few more....

I have a few ACEOs I hadn't posted yet. I wanted to get my shop up to 5 ACEOs available (the "Strive for 5" of the ACEtsy Team) - the ones I had kept selling, so I needed to replenish!

Two new ones are posted above.
SOLD

Whispering

Whispering, 3 x 5", acrylic on canvas
available at MiXtMedia Gallery

Another floral abstraction to go along with the "Reaching" painting.
I like this size and format and Ilike the way the two paintings look hung together. I think there will be more to go with these two!

We Remember - SOLD

We Remember, ACEO - 3-1/2 x 2-1/2, acrylic on 140# watercolor paper
SOLD

I stopped to take pictures at an old cemetery near our house the other day and a veterans group was there placing flags on the graves of those who have served.

I couldn't help but be touched.
Happy Memorial Day
I love old cemeteries - for their beauty, for their tranquility, for their sense of our past and our history.

Challenge Painting

"Reaching" is now up on the About.com painting gallery for the May Challenge! The artist who runs the painting forum left a very nice critique. Check it out here: http://painting.about.com/u/sty/submissiongallery/painting-project-abstracted-flowers/Reaching.htm

Reaching

Reaching, 3 x 5", acrylic on canvas
available at MiXtMedia Gallery

This painting is for the May challenge on About.com. The challenge was to create an abstract picture using a flower as a starting point. I thought it would be a good challenge to try since I haven't done much with abstraction lately. I wanted to take this painting a little further, but once I found myself getting to fussy with it, I knew it was time to walk away.

I'd like to try this one again on a larger scale someday. And I know I will try more floral abstractions in the future....I've already started another one!
