Rushing In - Mini Beach Painting Small Seascape Painting

Rushing In
4 x 3 inches
acrylic on 3/8" canvas

A tiny little seascape!

Actually I did a whole bunch of these:

for the Spring into Summer fundraiser. It seems kinda silly to post each one individually here on the blog, so I think I will get them added - well, at least the ones that are left! -  to my DailyPaintworks gallery (and eventually to my Etsy shop) so that if you are interested in individual ones, you can see them there.

Ocean Blue - Small Seascape ACEO Painting

Ocean Blue
3-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

A little rough seas, right? Kinda like how I feel about now  ;-) I think I need to go spend a day at the ocean once everything calms down around here.....

This little piece will probably be going to the Newburyport Art Association in Newburyport, Massachusetts for their Holiday Show and Sale - which runs from November 29th until December 24th - a really great place for some unique holiday gift shopping.

Day 16 - Receding Tide Small Seascape Painting

Receding Tide
3-1/2 x 2-1/2  inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

More beaches, I know....always relaxing to paint (and to look at!) I needed this as a bit of a break from bigger projects.

I delivered this piece - along with 29 other paintings (!) to the Topsfield Fair yesterday. If my two larger works are accepted into the Professional Division of the Fine Arts competition, then the other 28 pieces will be available in the Coolidge Hall Art Room October 4-14th.
There are a lot of art lovers in attendance at the Fair and sales are always brisk, so be sure to check it out early on during the Fair's run if you are local.

Day 1 Rolling In - Small Beach Landscape

Rolling In
4 x 3 inches
acrylic on 1/2" canvas

Okay, I decided to dive right in.......(it is a beach scene after all, right?) I am going to take part once again in Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. I tried the last time - but it was while I was working on some more involved gallery pieces and I only managed to make it to about 20. So - I'm giving it another try, and let's see if I can do any better this time! I have an awful lot of work to do in the next month, so hopefully the challenge will keep me focuses. We will see!

Anyways, this is a little beach scene on a tiny canvas - a great little piece to put on a stand or a mini easel right on your desk so you can take a little vacation in your mind whenever you want to.....
Rolling In - $30 + $3 shipping in the US

Enduring

Another seascape for the Keeping Equilibrium show at MixtMedia Gallery in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
We actually went to the beach today...cold and windy for this time of year, but the surf was amazing.

Calming - Small Landscape Painting, Original Seascape

Calming
7 x 5 inches
acrylic on cradled board

Tonight I am wiring the whole group of these seascapes...getting ready to take them to MixtMedia Gallery in Ipswich, Massachusetts tomorrow. Hopefully I can take a picture of how the whole grouping would look hung together - I want to hang them in a grid, so the whole grouping makes a visual impact as a group, as well as each separate little painting.

Persistence - Acrylic Landscape Painting, Ocean Seascape

Persistence
7 x 5 inches
acrylic on 3/4" cradled panel

After a crazy busy week and weekend, I am still playing catch-up. I am currently finishing up a  bunch of these seascapes for the "Keeping Equilibrium" show at MixtMedia Gallery. They are proving very meditative to work on!

Another Untitled - Small Acrylic Seascape Landscape Painting

Untitled
7 x 5 inches
acrylic on cradled board

It is proving interesting to see how these little seascapes develop. I wish I were able to do a whole lot of them one right after another - I think they would really change organically. Unfortunately, I have a few other things to get done this week, so I am doing them in pairs, then a little break to work on something else.

I'm also booking some more of my holiday shows this week - eek! This year is already flying by.....

This piece will be going to MixtMedia Gallery in Ipswich, Massachusetts for the "Keeping Equilibrium" show.

Untitled - Small Acrylic Landscape Painting Seascape

Untitled
7 x 5 inches
acrylic on cradled panel

Another in the mini series I am doing for the "Keeping Equilibrium" show at MixtMedia Gallery in Ipswich, Massachusetts. I want the titles all to relate to each other, and I haven't quite decided how I want that to work - hence the "untitled" for now.

Untitled - Small Painting Acrylic Landscape Seascape

Untitled
7 x 5 inches
acrylic on cradled wood panel

Still untitled... but this painting is for an upcoming exhibition at MixtMedia Gallery in Ipswich, Massachusetts with the theme of "Keeping Equilibrium". I plan to create a bunch of these to hang together - part of the reason why I am waiting on the title. I will also explain more about my choice of imagery for this theme when I post a few more.

This is a new kind of wood panel for me - a very smooth wood, with cradled edges. I am trying to build up a little bit of paint on these - and plan on trying a glossy finish. We shall see how the whole thing works out!

Ocean Breeze - Small ACEO Seascape Painting SOLD

#12/30 Day Challenge - Ocean Breeze
3.5 x 2.5 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper
SOLD

I had so much fun at the beach yesterday, that I decided I need to return today!
The waves are fun to paint - it is nice to work quicker and looser on these - especially compared with the painting of colored glass that I am working on now, and hopefully, will finish tonight.
I also kept thinking about how nice two of these little beach paintings would look matted and hung together.....

Anyways, back to the bottles - hope to be officially "caught up" on the Challenge tomorrow.
