Connection!

Connection
2.5 x 3.5 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper
on exhibit

It's been a crazy week! Been out hiking with the kids and dog every day, trying to squeeze in every bit of summer before the boys are back in school next week. Found a number of great places to return to for painting hopefully once school starts.

This little one is for a local display. I plan to do a slightly larger one with a similar set up in a square format next week for the Help the Children of Africa Challenge on DailyPaintworks.com

The paperwork went out for the Fair entries - so now I'm committed  ;-) Got a lot of matting and framing to get done so I can turn in all the entries next week......

Fine Art Friday

Okay it is actually Sunday now, but I did create this treasury on Friday to help celebrate the Fine Arts on Etsy. So much beautiful artwork, it is a lot of fun to create these treasuries!

Fine Art Friday!

Yay for a new fine art promotion on Etsy - Fine Art Friday!

Lots of treasuries being made, lots of twittering going on - very exciting. I think the Fine Art category is painfully underpublicized on Etsy, so it is so great to see so many artists get together to make a little noise!

This forum thread explains it. And thanks to Jessica Torrant for all her hard work getting it going.

Here is the treasury that I contributed:

Wow!

A few hours after listing the ACEO with the purple flower, it SOLD!! Yay! Strange to think of a little piece of my art on its way to the United Kingdom now....

I guess I will have to try to do a few more ACEOs this week. They sure are fun to do. I just need more hours in the day!

Here is a link to the remaining ACEOs in my shop:

A Nice Surprise

Kind of a bummer of a week ... and did not get to paint nearly as much as I would have liked. However I was very happy to discover today that I had been included in two treasuries on Etsy!

I have also been accepted as a member of EtsyVAST (Visual Artists Street Team)! One perk is that I get to post on their gallery blog. It is a great blog and fun to check out everyone's work. Check it out here: http://vastgallery.blogspot.com/

This should be another crazy week. Being in need of a quick fix, I am considering doing a few ACEO's. Stay tuned......

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=115849

We had been without power for 48 hours (yuck!)....one of the first things I saw once I was finally able to get to the computer again was a convo telling me about the treasury!

I'm so excited! It's tulip-themed - CatTingles did a lovely job.
