Better Things - Mini Painting - Small Acrylic Painting of Apple Kitchen Art

Better Things
3 x 3 inches
acrylic on MDF panel

Still celebrating the end of the local apple crop. I get so spoiled by the local apples, it is months before I can even consider buying apples at the grocery store. For now, I am hoarding as many local apples as I can......

For right now, this little painting is available on my Daily Paintworks page, but soon many of the remaining little guys will be going out to some local shops and galleries.

Hide Away - Small Still Life Painting - Original Acrylic Art for the Kitchen

Hide Away
3 x 3 inches
acrylic on MDF panel

One of my favorite things about fall in New England - besides pumpkin EVERYTHING (yes, I am one of THOSE people!)  - the wonderful local apples.

This was a tough apple year after a pretty incredible one last year. Apple picking season was very short - but the apples themselves have been extra sweet. I love trying all the different varieties that the local farms have to offer.

Together - Small Painting, Still Life Kitchen Art, Painting of Apple

Together
4 x 4 inches
acrylic on 3/4" cradled panel

I played around with the background on this for a while. As a result, this piece ended up quite textured - which I kind of like. It is giving me some ideas with which I want to play......inspiration when you least expect it!

Keep it Together - Small Still Life Painting in Green and Blue

Keep it Together
4 x 4 inches
acrylic on 3/4" cradled panel

Loving the blues and greens on this one - and then the pops of other colors if you look closely.
I'm finding that painting these little kitchen pieces is very satisfying! Maybe because they are finished relatively quickly? (Well, at least most of them, I worked on a different one for way too long yesterday that I just could seem to get to a point where I was happy with it.) I'd love to set up a tent at a farmers  market, buy some produce there and then paint it all day. Wouldn't that be fun?! Hmmm.....

Out on the Town - Small Still Life Painting for Kitchen Decor

Out on the Town
4 x 4 inches
acrylic on cradled board

Back to some little still lifes, inspired by my FunADay Project at the beginning of this year. Some of my galleries have requested these little guys, in addition to more of the vintage game paintings, so you will see me going back and forth between these two themes for a while!

For some reason, my reds don't really scan well. There is a lot more depth to the colors on the apples than you can see in this picture. I really build the layers when I paint fruit. It always seems like it isn't going to work, but eventually as I keep adding layers, it eventually seems to come together with a lot of depth because of all the layers of color.
