Letting Go - Small Acrylic Painting on Canvas Still Life of Pear

Letting Go
4 x 4 inches
acrylic on canvas

I bought some awesome small floater frames recently (http://www.canvasplace.com) and also bought a few of the 4x4" stretched canvases from the same company just to try them out. Love the texture of the canvas and how nice and tight the canvas feels. The mini floater frames are adorable, so I need to work on a few pieces so I can use them. I haven't painted pears in a while, so I started with a pear.

Repose - Small Still Life Painting Original Acrylic Kitchen Art Pear in a Vintage Green Bowl

Repose
4 x 4 inches
acrylic on cradled panel

This is the last of the little paintings for Fruit a Day October! It has been a lot of fun pairing up various fruit and colorful vintage tableware with the backgrounds. In the next few days, I will be giving out the information on how to vote for your favorites and enter in the drawing for free prints.

There will be more of these colorful little pieces as I experiment with various set ups. And some of them may become larger paintings as well....we will see! And, as always, if there is something particular that you would like to see me give a try, please feel free to contact me.

Slanted - Small Acrylic Painting, Colorful Small Still Life with Pear Kitchen Art

Slanted
3 x 3 inches
acrylic on MDF panel

Lovely pears - always fun to paint with their interesting shapes and subtle colors. I'm thinking that another trip to the farmers' market is needed to find what other produce is now in season!

Don't forget this is Fruit A Day October.....and I will be asking you to vote for a favorite later this month.

I Will Wait - Small Acrylic Painting, Fruit Still Life Kitchen Art

I Will Wait
4 x 4 inches
acrylic on 3/4" cradled panel

Back to some more of the kitchen art pieces. So many things to paint, so little time! I am hoping to do enough of these 4x4 panels to spread around a little to my local shops, but they are disappearing pretty quickly. I have a couple of commissions to work on, so after a finish a few more of these, I will have to take a break from them for a little bit.

This is one of three that I am donating to the local PTO for a silent auction to raise funds for our local schools. And speaking of fundraising - a great crowd came out last night to the Spring into Summer Handmade Market and Art Show raising funds for Team Anthony (http://www.teamanthonyfund.org)
For those of you are who are not local, I will continue to donate a percentage of sales from my Etsy shop through the end of the weekend (until May 5). Thank you for your support!

More kitchen inspiration......
Love the color of these red pears! So many colors in their skin - and always a challenge to paint.

Finally feels like spring here in New England. Can't wait to have some flowers blooming so I can paint them......

Slide Over - Small Still Life Painting, Kitchen Art Fun-A-Day Project

Slide Over
3 x 3 inches
acrylic on canvas

Well, I'm down to the last two Fun-A-Day paintings. This has been a very rewarding project! I plan to continue it in some capacity. And some of my favorites are going to be done in larger sizes due to popular demand  ;-)

The Fun-A-Day Boston show will be at Voltage Coffee & Art in Kendall Square (Cambridge, Massachusetts) from February 17th through April 5th, with an opening reception on Friday February 21st, 7-9pm. There are some wonderfully creative people involved - I can't wait to see all the projects!

Everyday - Small Painting Kitchen Still Life Art Fun-A-Day Project

Everyday
3 x 3 inches
acrylic on canvas

Getting sooo close to the end of the month!
So - should I continue on this series? I have had some requests for a few larger ones with similar paintings that I have done this month. It's been so much fun, I kind of want to keep going. But I think I will have to spread them out more - lots of gallery work coming up!

I am just getting details of where and when the Fun-A-Day Boston exhibit will be. This should be lots of fun! I will share the info as soon as I can get my act together.....

Patience - Small Still Life Painting on Canvas Food Art

Patience
4 x 4 inches
acrylic on 3/4" canvas

I had fun with this little grouping. I need to get back to painting more food!  ;-) Oh, so many things to paint, so little time.

Here are the three pieces together:

And they headed over to West Village Provisions today with a few Fall themed pieces.

I am working on getting my first newsletter together! I hope to do a monthly thing,  but if you know me, it'll probably be more like every other month. If you are interested in getting my first one in your inbox sometime soon (I hope!), you can sign up here.
