Days 9 and 10 - Strawberries!

Sweet Berries
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Strawberry Swing
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

I'm sneaking in two at once - just too tired to finish posting things last night.....

Just a few new little ones while I am working on a slightly larger piece...all for the upcoming Topsfield Fair. The event is a big agricultural fair that runs for 10 days each fall. There are various exhibitions and demonstrations besides all the normal fair events and I like to participate in the art exhibit each year. Besides the exhibit itself, there is an "art room" at Coolidge Hall where small pieces of art are available for sale. These two pieces will be available in the art room, or else you can purchase them before the Fair here.

Sebois River - Small Landscape Paitning

Sebois River
6 x 4 inches
acrylic on canvas panel

Day 8!
I'm still here....and hoping to get a tiny bit ahead in the upcoming days.....the River Ruckus is over (and it was a lot of fun!!!) and I am dropping of work for a show tomorrow, and another drop off at the end of the week. Schedule is pretty crazy......

This painting is the Sebois River in Maine from the snowmobile bridge crossing the river. It is available here.

Day 7 - Quiet Beach Tiny Seascape Painting

Quiet Beach
3 x 3 inches
acrylic on archival canvas panel

Okay, it actually early in the morning on Day 8 of the 30 Day Painting Challenge, but who's counting, right? I had this one done ahead of time and ready to post, but the family came up to the end of the Haverhill River Ruckus last night so we stayed to watch the fireworks. By the time I got home, unloaded the car from the show and then processed my credit card sales (yes, I know, I need a Square!) I was just too tired to post. So you will end up getting two posts today!

This is another tiny little painting. I got these great acid free handmade canvas panels from Springfield Canvas Supply. These are wonderful, great for traveling and plein air work - I got a few different sizes to try them out and they are so much  better quality than typical canvas panels. I am making these little 3 x 3 paintings available framed in a black wood frame with a one inch border. I need to take photos with the frames, because they are adorable  ;-)

Anyways, the framed piece is available here. And now to move on to Day 8......

Day 5 - On the Golden Road - tiny landscape

On the Golden Road
3 x 3 inches
acrylic on archival canvas panel

A tiny little landscape for Day 5 of the 30 Day Painting Challenge. I love these tiny hand made panels, and I have some wonderful hand made 3 x 3 frames to put them in! I have great fun doing these tiny pieces from time to time. The 30 Day Painting Challenge helps me remember that it is okay to sneak in these little tiny ones from time to time  - they help me to keep up with the challenge, plus they are a lot of fun to paint.

Busy, busy week/weekend, Dropping off work for three different shows, plus the Haverhill River Ruckus this weekend. Bittersweet, too - as the kids head back to school and summer break is officially over.....

This tiny original is available here.

Day 4 - Falling Down - Landscape Painting

Falling Down
8 x 8 inches
acrylic on canvas

It's Day 4 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge!

Today's entry is a piece I have been working on for MixtMedia's next exhibition. The theme is "The Four Elements" and I have chosen Water as my inspiration for two pieces. I was in Maine when I heard about the theme for the show, and the next day I was sitting at Shin Falls as my kids were playing in the water and I was racking my brain for inspiration. I looked up at the falls, and thought "Hmmm...it doesn't get more elemental than that!"

The show opens on September 20, 2013, with a reception from 6-8pm. Hope you can check it out!
