The Gift - Challenge Painting

The Gift
4x4 inches
acrylic on canvas

This was for Carol Marine's Gift Challenge on Daily Paintworks. I am a horrible gift-wrapper! I wanted to make it a fun painting, with all the curly ribbons and shadows, but it is not quite happening. I may end up re-visiting this one or scrapping it...not quite sure yet.

In other news, I just wanted to post one last painting while I spend tomorrow packing up my car (and my kids!) for a road trip out to see my family. A little time for relaxation and rejuvenation I hope. I am bringing my thumb box, so I hope to get a little painting done, but I doubt I will be able to post any new work next week. In the meanwhile, I will be reposting some older work that has returned from shows and is now available for purchase. Hope everyone has a great week!

I hope that you have a wonderful, relaxing vacation. We leave tomorrow too for our annual camping trip. I get giddy just thinking about a week of... nothing! Just reading, writing, walking to fill our days. And no electricity means no computer which means tons of catch-up when we get home! ;)

Thank you ladies! I hope I get a chance to relax too ;-)

And Melinda - hope you have a great trip! We do the camping thing every August. And it is awesome to be "off the grid" for a while!
