Just wanted to have a little fun with this one!
Their little faces got a little smushed because my youngest son thought they were fun to squish. Whoever thought of the idea of coating marshmellow with colored sugar? Child-heaven.
It is a good thing that my family likes tomatoes....I keep buying the "tomatoes-on-the-vine" because I love the "vine" part so much! The leaves/stem part on this just made me think of little tentacles reaching out in all directions.....
I went to mark this little guy as "SOLD" and I realized that I never blogged about it! I completed this miniature a while ago - I love the combination of yellow and cobalt blue. I have a few little cobalt bottles, I will have to put another one in a painting again soon.
I don't like to skip too many days without posting here...it is one of the issues I have when I am working on a larger painting. I need to learn to work on more than one painting at a time so that I can still have work to post! I took a break from the painting I am wrestling with that is to go to the Spring Show with Caterpillar Coaster in order to do a smaller piece.
Did you ever notice how creepy some of the characters on kiddie rides at fairs and older amusement parks can be? Since I've started noticing, I've become fascinated by them!
This painting is for an upcoming spring show. The theme is "Parks & Recreation". One of my families favorite forms of summer recreation is to go to some of the local old amusement parks and to the old-fashioned traveling fairs and carnivals. I hope eventually to do an entire series of little scenes, little glimpses, of all the colors and sounds and the feel of these places. Right now I am working on three pieces for the exhibition to be finished by the end of this month.
Can you tell I'm a little eager for warmer weather?
I couldn't resist buying strawberries this week, even though they are pretty lousy this time of year. I just really needed one tiny little touch of summer....
