Trio - Small Still Life Painting of Tomatoes for #twitterartexhibit

Trio
4 x 6 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

This is my entry for this year's #TwitterArtExhibit. For the exhibit, artists all over the world donate a piece of original postcard size art. An exhibit is held and all pieces are available for sale at a flat, affordable price and all proceeds go to a particular charity or non profit. This year the exhibit is being held at the Trygve Lie Gallery in New York City and the charity is Foster Pride’s “Handmade” Program, in which young women in foster care learn to create and market a unique line of goods. It is very cool to follow all the pieces coming in (see their twitter feed here) - over 1200 artists all over the world participating! If you happen to be in New York City, the opening is on March 31 from 6:30-8:30. For the rest of us, much of the opening will be broadcasted on Periscope.

Looking on the Bright Side - Small Acrylic Painting for #Twitterartexhibit

Looking on the Bright Side
4 x 6 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Ugh. I'm thinking my computer has had enough of the crazy snow here in New England as well as the rest of us...one problem after another.  But at least I am up and running for now....

The painting above is my entry for this year's Twitter Art Exhibit. The exhibit is being held in Norway this year as a fundraiser for Home-Start, Moss. For the exhibit, hundred of artists all over the world donate a postcard-size piece of their work to be sold during the exhibition for $35. It is run by volunteers and all money goes to the charity. It's great fun to follow all the art and exhibition happenings on Twitter by following the hashtag #Twitterartexhibit

Paired Up - Small Painting Kitchen Still Life for #twitterartexhibit

Paired Up
4 x 6 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Yes, I took a week off from blogging!
After actually managing to post my Fun-A-Day paintings every day in January (and also posted them in the 30 Day Painting Challenge, and on Daily Paintworks, and on the Fun-A-Day Facebook group, I really needed a break from all that posing!
I have been painting though.....

The piece above is a postcard-size painting on watercolor paper for the #twitterartexhibit in Orlando. This is a quote directly from their website:

"Through art we can change the world."
#TwitterArtExhibit utilizes social media and public engagement to generate income for charities and nonprofit organizations. In the past, #TwitterArtExhibit has generated funds for a library suffering from deep funding cuts to purchase much-needed children’s books, for an abused women’s shelter seeking to improve the lives of the families they serve, and for an arts organization mentoring underprivileged young adults in preparation for careers in the visual arts.

This year, the exhibit is being curated by amazing artist Robin Maria Pedrero and will benefit The Center for Contemporary Dance, Special Needs Classes. I am excited to donate my art to this wonderful exhibit for a very worthy cause!
