Johnson's Farm - Small ACEO Painting of Raspberries

Johnson's Farm
3-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper
SOLD

Well, since I had the blueberries and strawberries going, I had to add some raspberries. This one sold as soon as I got it into the frame  ;-)
I enjoy doing these little botanical pieces....maybe a few more in the future? What do you think?

By the way, the title is kind of an obscure reference to Prince's "Raspberry Beret". I couldn't resist!

Touch of Blue - Small ACEO Painting, Botanical Art Blueberries

Touch of Blue
3-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Yes, it seems like I totally bailed on the 30 Paintings in 30 Day Challenge!
But, quite honestly, the paintings have been getting done, and I just have not had the time to post them. One festival after another - and some tight deadlines as well - had led to some crazy busy days (and nights!) lately. Still - lots of painting getting done, just not much computer time to post it all.

The last outdoor festival for me for the season was this past weekend. Every weekend this month has been filled with art-related fairs and other venues, but now I will slow down a bit as my kids' schedules get busier - and I start to prepare for the holiday (!) craziness.

And for those of you who have purchased my little painted canvas ornaments in the past....I'm not sure that I will be posting many of them here on my blog this year. If you are interested in the ornaments, please keep an eye on my Etsy shop (there is a separate ornament section that I will be adding to shortly) or you can email me to see what is available.

Spring Start - Small Acrylic Painting, Floral Art Purple Crocuses

Spring Start
6 x 4 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Crazy busy weekend- and week! - so I have fallen behind on  posting my 30 paintings in 30 days.
And the craziness isn't going to let up quite  yet!

Had a great day at the Haverhill Art Festival on Saturday - except when my tent blew over, that is. And this coming Saturday is the Boxford Apple Festival! Lots of fun stuff to do in the fall in New England.

This little floral will be available in the Art Room in Coolidge Hall at the Topsfield Fair through October 13th.

Tiny Blues - Small ACEO Painting of Blueberries

Tiny Blues
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Another bunch of blueberries. Wish I had time right now to do a grouping including red and black raspberries, strawberries, etc. I enjoy doing these little botanical studies! The series will have to wait, however, this little guy will join some strawberries on display at West Village Provisions in West Boxford, Massachusetts.

I've got a few pieces back in the studio now that have been in various shows and I am slowly getting them listed in my Etsy shop. Here is one:

Over and Over Again

Summer Sweetness - Original ACEO Painting Botanical Art Strawberry Still Life

Summer Sweetness
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

The companion to the blueberries! I'd love to do some raspberries, too, but I'm not sure I have the time at the moment. I have plans to do a few flowers in this kind of format also - on watercolor paper with the background left plain - maybe a little larger on 4 x 6 paper. Now I just need some flowers to  bloom so that I have something to work with.....

This piece will be available at West Village Provisions in West Boxford, Massachusetts - where I will be painting live on Friday, May 16, 2014 as part of their anniversary celebration.

To the Top - Small Kitchen Art Still Life Painting

To the Top
3x3 inches
acrylic on canvas

Some cheery cherry tomatoes in a lovely yellow bowl - they sure looked sunny on my counter this morning! I am getting so excited about the possibilities of things evolving from these little paintings from my Fun-A-Day project. I have plans for some other pieces of art based on these so I hope you don't get tired of things from my kitchen!

I talked with almost all my shops and galleries this week. It's amazing how January starts with so little on the table. Suddenly my calendar is filling very quickly! Lots of exciting things to look forward to in 2014. I hope you will stay tuned  ;-)

True Colors - Still Life Painting of Autumn Leaves

True Colors
6 x 4 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Getting ready for this weekend's show at the Wenham Museum.....got all set up today and the place looks festive! The show is open from 10 until 4 on Friday and Saturday with a ticketed cocktail party on Friday night. Should be a fun event! The Sleigh Bell Fair always ushers in the start to the holiday season for me!

Lots of other things coming up quickly....the painting above will be going to the Newburyport Art Association for the Holiday Show and Sale. That event runs from November 29th until December 24th. Many opportunities to shop local for the holidays!

Day 17 - Two Small Blueberry Paintings

Wild Blueberries 1
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Wild Blueberries 2
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Not one, but TWO paintings for Day 17. These botanicals are small and relatively quick. I wanted to have a few for the upcoming Boxford Apple Festival. I'm thinking about making a few sets of these in mats (think one blueberry painting, one strawberry, one raspberry, etc.) available for purchase around the holidays. What do you think?

The Apple Festival is this Saturday, September 21st. Hope you can drop by if you are near Boxford, Massachusetts!

Days 9 and 10 - Strawberries!

Sweet Berries
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

Strawberry Swing
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

I'm sneaking in two at once - just too tired to finish posting things last night.....

Just a few new little ones while I am working on a slightly larger piece...all for the upcoming Topsfield Fair. The event is a big agricultural fair that runs for 10 days each fall. There are various exhibitions and demonstrations besides all the normal fair events and I like to participate in the art exhibit each year. Besides the exhibit itself, there is an "art room" at Coolidge Hall where small pieces of art are available for sale. These two pieces will be available in the art room, or else you can purchase them before the Fair here.
